This part is designed to break if freezing conditions exist and there is still water in the PVB, protecting the more expensive brass body from cracking, saving time and money. The parts are easy to replace and instructions are provided in the kit, which also includes a bonnet, O-ring, canopy nut and grease packet (used to lubricate the "O" ring).
